The Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) successfully held its Scholarship Forum in Negros Occidental and Panay Island last August 4 and 5, respectively, as part of its national roadshow series that aims to deliver and inform Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from all over the country about its scholarship program offerings.
For Negros Occidental, the Scholarship Forum was held at the Sofia Hall, Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City; while for Panay Island, it was held at the Corporate ABC, Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City.
More than 250 participants composed of students, faculty, researchers and staff of HEIs from both Negros Occidental and Panay Island joined the Forum that discussed the two virtual institutes of the PCARI Project: Institute for Health Innovation and Translational Medicine (IHITM) and Institute for Information Infrastructure Development (IID).

Dr. Angelo Cedric Festin, one of the highly-esteemed PCARI Project Leaders, also talked about his PCARI-funded project for IIID, the Village Base Station.
Not only discussing about the Village Base Station, Dr. Festin also narrated to the participants
at Iloilo Grand Hotel how he started as a scholar and now a Project Leader
The participants were also given the chance to interact and ask questions from the PCARI team in an open forum towards the end of the program.
The recent PCARI Scholarships Fora were made possible with the support of the CHED Negros Island Region and CHED VII.
PCARI thanks all the participants who came to the event, and hopes for the increase of scholarship applications from both Negros Occidental and Panay Island.
