The UP Laboratory for Electrochemical Engineering and CHED-PCARI's GREEN POWER Program is inviting faculty, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, and national agencies to its 2016 National Electrochemical Energy Storage Workshop on October 20-22, 2016 to be held at the NIP Small Auditorium, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The workshop aims to discuss how batteries and fuel cells work, how to improve their performance, and how they are key in the world of renewable energy. It will be divided into three, main topics: (1) Energy Storage and Electrochemistry, (2) Battery Technology, and (3) Fuel Cell Technology. Speakers will be composed of professors from the UP Diliman such as Dr. Joey Ocon, Dr. Michael Angelo Pedrasa, Dr. Julie Anne Del Rosario, Dr. Carl Michael Odulio, Engr. Marlon Opon, and Dr. Rinlee Butch Cervera.
Dr. Poya Abel Chuang, a collaborator of the GREEN POWER Program from the University of California-Merced, will also be giving a lecture on the last day.
Its initial workshop that ran from September 12-14, 2016 concluded yesterday with a total of 89 participants composed of faculty, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students from the University of the Philippines (UP).
