PCARI 4th Cycle of Request for Proposals (RFPs) is Now Open

PCARI is pleased to announce a new cycle of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for CHED-PCARI funding. Projects to be funded under this announcement are expected to be either in the priority areas of information infrastructure development and health innovation and translational medicine to be undertaken jointly by collaborating eligible HEIs. 

Proposals must address a significant societal problem and have the potential to bring about and sustain technology transfer or commercialization activities. For this cycle, preference will be given to project proposals in Agriculture, Marine and Aquatic Sciences, and in the priority areas stated above.

A pre-condition for the approval of the proposals is for these to be undertaken in collaboration with a university in California, USA, such as the University of California Berkeley (UCB), the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of California Davis (UC Davis).

Submissions must be received electronically by the PCARI Secretariat at proposals.pcariproject@ched.gov.ph on or before 31 August 2016, 11:59 PM, Manila time; (31 August 2016, 07:59 AM, PDT).

Quezon City, PH –     A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Commission on Higher Education (represented by CHED Chairperson and PCARI Project Director Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan) and University of California Los Angeles campus (represented by UCLA Chancellor Gene D. Block) held at the Office of the President, Quezon Hall, UP Diliman, last June 18, 2016.

PCARI Joins Kabisig Philippine Government Expo and Trade Fair 2016

As a project under Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) is joining the Kabisig Philippine Government Expo and Trade Fair 2016 on June 20-22, 2016 at SM Megamall.

The Kabisig Philippine Government Expo and Trade Fair 2016 shall exhibit and showcase government efforts through various projects and programs driven by the participating government agencies including Local Government units (LGUs) and Government-Owned/and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs).

PCARI shall showcase its scholarships for MS and PhD degrees, Sandwich Programs, and Post-Doctoral Study Awards. Brochures, primers, and scholarship application forms shall be made available at the venue.

For everyone who missed the PCARI road show series for National Capitol Region, this is your chance to talk with PCARI representatives for application inquiries.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Please be informed that the Commission on Higher Education has accepted, with regret, the resignation of Dr. Joel Joseph Marciano, Jr. as Interim Director of the Institute for Information Infrastructure Development (IIID) of the Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) Project effective 7 March 2016.

Dr. William G. Padolina shall act as Interim Director of IIID until such appointment shall have been made.
